Textbook:	Holt Science and Technology (Holt, Rinehart and Winston)
Grade Determination:	Quizzes and Tests 30 %, Homework 15 %, Class Work, Labs and Journals 25%, Notebook checks 10%, Final Exam 20%.
County Grading Scale:	A = 100 – 90, B = 89 – 80, C = 79 – 70, D = 69 – 60, F = 59 - 0
Materials Needed:	Composition book, three ring binder (1 ^1/2 inch), loose leaf paper, pens (black or blue), calculator, colored pencils or markers, #2 pencils and erasers
Attendance Policy:	All students are expected to attend school regularly and be on time for classes in order to benefit from the instructional program. To earn a passing grade for a course for a nine weeks period, the student must be in attendance for ninety percent (90%) of the class time (e.g., forty days of a forty-five day nine week period). For a more detailed explanation of attendance requirements please see pages 5 and 6 of the Omni Student Handbook.
Make-up Work Policy:	Full credit for make-up work will be given for excused absences only. District policy allows one make-up day for each excused absence.
Course Description: The purpose of this course is to provide an understanding of the three branches of Science, Earth Science, Physical Science and Life Science.

NO FEE OR CHARGES MAY BE REQUIRED OF ANY STUDENT AS A CONDITION OF ATTENDANCE AND FULL PARTICIPATION IN ANY CLASS.
